The challenge of building on a rock cliff in a picturesque East Tennessee riverfront setting led DKLEVY to a unique design for this residential home. To connect the home with the natural landscape, the home’s entrance was sunken into a lush garden.
The client’s desire to minimize artificial lighting inspired the layout, with private wings, a guest area, and a large central living space. The house features an atrium at its heart, with floor to ceiling windows offering endless natural light, views of the large yard, and the water. DKLEVY’s design prioritized clean lines, warmth, and blending with the natural surroundings. The entertaining deck provides panoramic views of mountains and water, creating a peaceful setting in harmony with East Tennessee’s natural beauty.
